Oklahoma City at PORTLAND (-3')

By Dwayne Connors, Featured Handicapper

Here's the deal, I started this month by winning 9 straight days, and 11 of the first 12 days in April.

Currently I have lost 9 of my last 10 days.

Talk about a fu&#ing rollercoaster ride, April qualifies.

Not doing anything different than I was when the dice were blistering hot, unfortunately just not winning right now though.

All about finding one winner. Then turning that one winner into a pair of winners, and getting back on that winning streak I know I can deliver.

Atlanta-Cincinnati - 6:40 pm start

Need to get my feet back under me, that's just the fact.

The profits have taken a major hit, but I am still up $3,565 at $1 bet per unit over the past 35 days of play.

Can't get on a new winning streak without a winning day.

Braves-Reds goes at 6:40 pm eastern time.

With wins and covers in the first 2 games of this series at the Moda Center, Portland has moved to 34-9 straight up on their home court this year! The  pair of covers also pushed them to 26-16-1 against the spread when playing in front of the home crowd.

Guess where the Blazers are playing tonight? That's right, at home, and I will ride them into the Winner's Circle in Game 5 as they end the season on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

OKC showed some life in winning Game Three in front of their home crowd, as Russell Westbrook had his best game of the series shooting-wise in helping lead the Thunder to a comfortable 120-108 win and cover, but Westbrook was held without a basket in the second half on Sunday night, as Portland put their foot down hard on Oklahoma City's throat in a 111-98 win that has the # 3 seed on the brink of advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in years.

Damian Lilliard and C.J. McCollum continue to dominate in the backcourt, as Lilliard scored 15 of his 24 points in the third quarter, while McCollum netted 27 points to lead the team. You know you can count on those 2 to be the lynch-pins of the Portland attack, but also keep your eyes on Maurice Harkless who is coming off of a 15 points, 10 rebounds performance. He has been a tough matchup for OKC, and figures to be again tonight.

Portland has outrebounded Oklahoma City in all 4 games played in this series, and that is not something that Thunder coach Billy Donovan can just magically snap his fingers and make disappear.

The Blazers entered the playoffs last season as the # 3 seed as well, and they were swept in the opening round. That had them enter this postseason having lost 10 straight playoff games, and to add insult to injury they had also lost all 4 regular season series meetings to the Thunder this year as well!

I would say Portland sure looks like they have shaken off their past disappointments and appear ready to add to Oklahoma City's recent rash of playoff busts under Donovan.

I am going to lay the points with the Trail Blazers to close out this opening round series tonight.

Brooklyn (+8') at PHILADELPHIA

By Bob Valentino, Featured Handicapper

Right there entering the 4th quarter, and then the points dried up.

100 Dime Max Wager # 5 of 6 - Houston falls at Utah as they get outscored 31-12 in that final quarter.

Need a winner tonight no two ways about it.

For Tuesday.

NBA Winner # 13 of 21

Winner #  4 of 5

Time to get back on the winning side of things in the NBA for this Tuesday night.

Going to cut right to the chase. I say Philadelphia wins this game tonight at home against Brooklyn and ends their series in a quick 5 games, but I say Brooklyn plus the points stays inside of the number.

Philly pulled another fast one with the betting public and the Nets, as they announced Joel Embiid would play after all on Saturday after being a late scratch from the lineup in Game 3 due to his left knee soreness and listed as "doubtful" for Game 4.

It's clear that the Nets simply cannot stop Embiid, their only real hope is that he stops himself with missed shots and turnovers - and he did have a pair of late game critical turnovers as the Sixers barely edged the Nets 112-108 in that huge win at Barclays Center to give them the big series lead at 3-1.

That game stayed a lot closer than the Sixers probably would have liked, and they mostly played from behind, as Nets Coach Kenny Atkinson gave his team a much-needed jolt by inserting Caris Lavert into the starting lineup, as Lavert went off for 25 points. That kind of production again tonight will help keep the visitors in this game plus the generous number.

I simply refuse to believe that the leading three-point shooter in the NBA - Joe Harris is going to go 0-fer again in this elimination game. Harris was 0-for-6 in the pair of games that just concluded on the Nets home court. Perhaps shooting on the road where there is less pressure means Harris sees a couple go down instead of rimming out. If that does happen, advantage big dog plus the points!

Philly had Miami down last season in the opening round and let their foot off the gas. This team is still maturing and while they simply are too talented to lose the series, or even this game to the Nets, remember Brooklyn's lone win in the 4 that have been played comes on this hardwood.

Points work, as this is just a few too many to lay to the Nets tonight.
