This line is completely out of whack.

In watching the Austin Peay/Vandy game last week I was a bit shocked to see just how badly the Commodores struggled on offense.

Playing 2 different QB's in the game, they were only able to manage 21 offensive points as their last score was a punt return TD to start the 4th quarter.

Think about that.

You struggled against a team that was 7-5 last year and returned only 11 starters!!

Could it be because you lost your QB, top tight end Eli Bowers, top WR in Richie Stowers, 4 starters on the offensive line and 4 of their top 5 tackler's on defense. 

Now comes Delaware, a team that head coach Ryan Carty says is his best in this, his 5th year at the helm.

He said it's definitely his best defense since his arrival but he is excited about his offense..

They return QB Nick Minicucci, top running back Jo Silver, top wide receiver Sean Wilson and top tight end Elijah Sessoms.

I don't care how good Vandy's defense is, this Blue Hen offense is going to move the football.

Listen, it was a great year for Vandy last year and much of that success was the play of QB Diego Pavia.

Hence Clark Lea playing 2 QB's before he gets to SEC play.

It wouldn't surprise me if Delaware made a lot of people nervous in Nashville today, much the way Western Michigan did last week in Ann Arbor.

Which by the way, I gave out the Broncos +27 1/2 all over radio last week.

What has changed????

This game comes down to one major factor.  A factor I pointed out when I used the Seattle Seahawks in the big one.

Can the offensive line of the Patriots block the defensive front of Seattle.

The answer is NO.

And if you couldn't block them on a neutral field, good luck doing it in Seattle, the loudest stadium in the NFL!!!!!!

Is it going to be different without Kenneth Walker?  Not really.

The only reason they ran him so much was Darnold was playing like shit and once Seattle got the lead, Kubiak asked him to be a game manager.

And he did it perfectly.

To his own admission in the offseason, Darnold said, "I wish I could have played better!!!!"

Well guess what Sam, you will play better tonight.

Another problem facing the Patriots tonight, is the fact Seattle superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba isnt' going to get hurt and play a subpar game again.

The Patriots had no right being in the super bowl last year, were overrated, and exposed by this Seattle team.

They will get exposed again, especially Drake Maye.  Simply put, I don’t trust this young man.  Seattle is the hardest stadium to play in and Maye will make mistakes.

If Maye beats me tonight, so be it but for my dollar that is not happening.

Lay it with confidence tonight.

The wrong team is favored here.

As you get into the X's and O's of this game, all I see written and talked about is SMU QB Kevin Jennings and how he is going to just waltz in here and throw for 300 plus.

Yes, the Seminoles' pass defense didn't look all that great last week versus New Mexico State, so yes, I can see how people can jump to that conclusion.

I counter with this.

He lost his top 3 receivers from last year and to think he won't miss a beat is fool's gold.

Maybe the Aggies of New Mexico State are a little better than people think and FSU head coach Mike Norvell probably held some things back.

It was the obvious look ahead game.  Simple as that.

The big advantage Florida State has in this game is facing an SMU defense returning just 3 starters.

They will have a problem stopping Seminoles RB Ousmane Kromah and WR Samuel Singleton Jr, who is their swiss army knife.

He had 168 all purpose yards (54 receiving, 42 rushing, 68 kick return.)

I really like the matchup of the FSU offense vs the SMU defense.

SMU will have its moments but at home, under the lights, I believe a huge special teams' play late in the game, swings the momentum to the home team and they get it done.

Would not be surprised to see the dog shock the world and win the game outright.

Give me the points all night long.

He might shock the world again this year.

Tonight on a neutral field in Nashville, Jeff Brohm and his Louisville Cardinals will try to pull off another shocker as they take on Ole Miss.

Last year off a heartbreaking OT loss to Virginia 30-27, they were 13' point underdogs at Miami/Florida.

They shocked the world and won the game outright 24-21 and would go on to finish the season 9-4 but if not for injuries, they probably would have been in the playoffs.

Two of their 4 losses were in OT and a third one was a 1-point loss to Clemson.

Over the last 2 years, 7 of their 8 losses have been by 7-points or less.

This is as good a coach in Division 1 and as you can see, he is a hard man to blow out.

He snagged Ohio State QB Lincoln Kienholz and we know just how good Brohm, an ex Louisville QB himself, is with developing QB's.

With his top 3 running backs from last year back, this might be Brohm's best team yet.

As for Ole Miss, the hype surrounding this team is unbelievable, mostly because of their QB Trinidad Chambliss being granted a 6th year.

And the fact their Lane Kiffin built team made it to the Playoff semi-finals.

Well, pretty much the entire offensive staff that stayed through the playoff, is now in Baton Rouge with Kiffin.

So it's fool's gold to think Ole Miss isn't going to miss a beat nor Chambliss for that matter when he is missing 6 offensive coaches.

We're talking offensive coordinator and QB coach Charlie Weis Jr, Co-Offensive coordinator Joe Cox and Passing game coordinator George McDonald.

You throw in running backs coach Kevin Smith and assistant QB coach Dane Stevens and you have yourselves important voices no longer there for Chambliss.

Let history show Brohm doesn't get blown out and the points are the only way to go in this one.

Don't be surprised to see the Cardinals win the game outright.
